Sleepy Hollow

Based on the incomparable tale by Washington Irving, and inspired by his sparse dialogue and lush imagery, Drama of Works will be creating a new piece to be peaked at for the first time at the 2004 Carnival of Samhain. The piece will be almost entirely silent and borrow movements and visuals from the silent horror films we are all familiar with. They will use zoetropes and other early film techniques to produce special effects. Transparent costume, real branches and leaves, as well as traditional shadow puppetry will all be used to create a landscape unlike any other. On top of the imagery, live musicians will be enlisted to provide accompaniment that will send chills down our spines.
