The first edition of this show, performed early in 2001, was concieved within the Arts at St. Ann's Puppet Lab and was commissioned by the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Science & Technology Project.

Grants were also given by The Henson Foundation and The Rhode Island Foundation.
